I have been trying to get out and do some shooting over the last couple of weekends but the weather hasn’t been all that cooperative lately. Either it’s been too cold or Kamloops has been socked in with fog. I managed to get a few hours of shooting in last Sunday and yielded some results.

The mountain sheep picture proved to be a lucky break. I haven’t seen them in a while and was lucky enough to get one decent frame-although cropped the wrong way. I waited for a good 1/2 hour to get the vertical shot but it didn’t happen.

The original colour of the pics was pretty dull, so I converted them to black & white for a better visual effect.

I was on hand to document Peter & Laura’s fabulous wedding up at Harper Mountain Resort this past September. The weather held out for what was a wonderful ceremony filled with readings from Shakespeare and a Secwepemc blessing that had everyone grabbing for the tissues. Following the afternoon photo session, we headed back to the lodge for the reception. Dinner, speeches (more tears & laughs) and dancing. Just the way it was meant to be. When Niki & Clint told me that they were going to have pirates,corsets and swords at their wedding, I didn’t know what to say. Well, they weren’t kidding…making it one of the most interesting weddings of the year. The ceremony and reception were held at the Kamloops Convention Centre and during the afternoon we were out at the TRU Horticultural gardens for photos. The cake was cut with a real sword…and Captain Jack made an appearance (drink in hand) to congratulate the happy couple as well! Congratulations to Niki and Clint! The family cabin on the Shuswap turned out to be the perfect spot for Adrianah and Jeremy to share wedding vows with family and friends. The weather was just amazing and everyone had a really good time ‘Eating, Drinking and Being Married’. An emotionally charged ceremony was followed by dinner and dancing out at the Carlin Hall.

It was a dancing crazy night on July 21st as Bruce and Sabrina held their wedding reception for family and friends. The happy couple had a “destination” wedding earlier in the year but still wanted to have a reception for everyone back at home. The Columbo Lodge in Kamloops set the stage for the colourful event with an awesome dinner, speeches, cake cutting and dancing the night away. Here’s a quick post of some pics from the evening…

My congratulations to Katie and Quinn who were married on July 18th out at the Quaaout Lodge on Little Shuswap. The weather turned out to be very sunny and extremely hot but nothing could keep the smiles off these two.  Katie looked absolutely stunning in her elegant dress while Quinn made the smart choice of wearing a white tux to combat the heat.  A beautifully simple ceremony followed by a wonderful reception led to everyone dancing the night away in the Quaaout ballroom.  Here’s some of my favourite shots from their wedding…

It’s been a while since my last post…it was an extremely busy July this year and I’m still catching up with all the editing.  So in saying that I thought I would share some photos from Laura & Al’s wedding back on July 12th down at the TRU Horticultural Gardens.  It was a pretty hot day but we all made it through and I got some great shots of the bridal couple without anyone passing out from the heat.

The photo with the kids proved to be a challenge as one flower girl decided that she didn’t want to be a part of anything after the ceremony was finished.  It took quite a bit of reassurance from mom and myself to get her to come back for just a couple of photos.  Luckily, I had my “Monkey” with me and had all the kids smiling in no time!

The reception was held at TRU’s Terrace Room.  Al’s “Mission Impossible” garter toss had everyone laughing, and I had a hard time keeping my eye on the garter as it went flying all over the place before one lucky guy found it at his feet.

It turned out to be an excellent day with an excellent couple…My congratulations to Laura and Al!  All the best!

Congrats to Eleanor & Phillip who were married last weekend at the Peace Lutheran Church in Abbotsford!  I had been constantly watching the forecast but we were very lucky to get day without the rain…which is very rare in Abbotsford.  My good friend Duncan Turner was on hand during the afternoon to help out…providing some stunning shots as well (Thank You!).  Following the ceremony we went to Tretheway House for some family photos and some more fun shots of the Bride and Groom.  Here’s some of my favourites from their wedding day…

I had an awesome time last weekend with Autumn & Dave who were married at St. Andrews on the Square in Kamloops.  It was quite a relief to see the sun again after a very rainy Friday.  After the ceremony we headed up to TRU’s Horticultural Gardens for some photos.  Their reception was held at TRU’s Mountain Room, which was decked out in “Tango” orange-very colourful indeed!  It’s always fun to see new and different ideas at wedding receptions-and David’s “Fishing Rod” garter toss had all the guys jumping for the bait!  My congratulations to you both and have a great time in Disneyland!

Congratulations to Jennifer and Andrew who tied the knot a couple of weeks ago out at the TRU Horticultural Gardens in Kamloops.  It turned out to be a fantastic sunny day…which has been quite rare lately!  These two had no trouble getting comfortable in front of the camera…so comfortable in fact that I had to ask if they were models!  The “Kissing” putting green was a real hit with the guests at the reception resulting in some very serious kissing from the Bride and Groom.  Here’s some preview photos of their wedding day…
